“I just wanted to say a big thank you to you for putting on the running training day last sunday. I found it so informative and can already feel the benefit after going for a run tonight and applying some of the tips and techniques. Now I can not wait for the bristol half marathon to start.

“Thank you for the fantastic training day it was a brilliant and really inspiring day. Having access to all those coaches/physios for £10 was amazing value and made such a difference to my training for the 10k. Every time I train I remember something from the session. It really made a difference and yes – I achieved my personal best on the day. An improvment of 4mins from last year! I can’t make the next training day but will definitley be recommending it to friends”.

Running with the Girls with Bath and North East Somerset Council
Running with the girls courses are a range of courses aimed helping women start to run or improve their running. All courses are led by qualified running coaches who will help participants improve their fitness and running skills no matter where their starting point. The beginners groups welcome girls from the age of 13 and women who have no or very little running experience. The coaches will guide the women through from poor fitness and lack of running experience to 5k, around 3 miles, of gentle jogging. For those women who finish the beginners or can comfortably jog 5km there is a kick start course. This course is slightly more demanding and will start to introduce more complex training techniques to help women reach 10km. And finally so those who want to reach a little further there are half marathon courses that will help participants prepare for the Bristol and Bath Half Marathon. Bath & North East Somerset Council are happy to announce that in 2010 Run Bristol have agreed to allow Running with the Girl’s half marathon participants to apply for reserved entry into the Bristol Half Marathon shortly after the course has started. This will allow all participants time to try the course before deciding if they wish to enter the race.
For more information about any of the courses please call Bath and North East Somerset Council’s Sport and Active Leisure Team.
