Bristol Half Marathon Business Challenge 2008

Race organisers Bristol City Council are inviting companies to take part in this race within a race.

The Bristol Half Marathon Business Challenge is designed to encourage businesses to promote a healthy workforce and help raise money for charity.

Organisations taking part will benefit from:

• Building a strong team spirit
• Cultivating links with other local businesses
• Flagging Bristol as a flourishing business community
• Participating in a high profile sporting event
• Supporting local charities or favourite causes

Prizes for the Bristol Half Marathon Business Challenge will be awarded to:

• Charity Challenge (the team that raises the most money for charity)
• Fastest team (the team with the fastest collective time on the day)
• Fastest man
• Fastest woman

Run for Charity

The race official charities are the Association of Children’s Hospices (ACH), St Peters Hospice and COCO, for more information on their work please see the Charity page on this site. It is hoped that companies will support these charities, but teams are welcome to raise money for other charities if they prefer.

How to enter

Places in the race have been reserved for teams who would like to compete in the Business Challenge. The closing date for receipt of entries is Friday 11 July 2008 or sooner if the race is full. All you have to do is use the online entry link from this site and follow the instructions for the Bristol Half Marathon Business Challenge entry process. Please note: individual team members may enter at different times and each pay using their own or company credit card. Each transaction will be subject to an online processing fee of £3.

During the year we will be publishing training advice for both the Bristol 10k and the Bristol Half Marathon provided by Bud Baldaro UKA National Coach for marathon and Liz Yelling, one of our top athletes, 2006 Commonwealth Marathon bronze medallist and author of A Woman’s Guide to Running.

Marathon-Photos.com will be taking photographs at the Start, on the course and at the Finish at this event. The photos will be available online within 48 hours of the event to every entrant as exclusive photo products. Plus every competitor will be able to download for FREE their Event Certificate.
