Notes to Editors
You are invited to send a reporter/photographer to the running workshop on Tuesday, June 23. Tracey Morris will be available at the venue from 3pm for any advance media activity – she is currently returning to fitness from injury but is hoping to do the Bristol half in preparation for the Commonwealth Games Marathon in New Delhi next year

Tracey Morris: biog – National Coach Bud Baldaro summarises her career so far as completing a fairy tale story of going from life as a non competitive jogger with a best time of 3.5 hrs for the marathon distance to improve by over 1 hr and earn Olympic selection for Athens 2004, where she finished in a brilliant top 30 position on her GB debut.

Finishing as the first British woman in the 2004 London Marathon brought Morris instant public attention. This performance ensured her a place on the Athens Olympic Team at the age of 36.

A successful junior, she gave up athletics when she went to University but in 2002 joined Valley Striders in Leeds and now has a personal best half marathon time of 73.44.

Her career continued to blossom with a fine 4th place in the Melbourne Commonwealth Games. Tracy has competed in all the major road running events in the world and at the tender age of 40 has aspirations for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

Dan Robinson – biog the 2 times Olympian has been GBs most consistent performer for the past four years. He has two superb top 15 placings in the World’s and Olympic Games to his credit. The Gloucestershire athlete is a mighty “pocket rocket” with a superb ability of producing his best runs when it matters most.

Dan’s greatest moment came in the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games when pacing his race to perfection – he claimed the marathon bronze. Like Tracey, Dan aims to return to the Commonwealth Games next year.

Dan has a great deal to offer in terms of passing on his coaching tips.

Both athletes will be toeing the line in this years Bristol half marathon in the hopes of making the GB squad for the World Championships in Birmingham the following month.
