Bristol Road Mile and Street Sprints Results 2009
Bristol City Council are working in partnership with Bristol & West Athletic Club to organise a series of one mile races for age groups ranging from under 11s to seniors. Now in its sixth year, the Mile races will take place on the paved walkways around College Green on Saturday 5 September as part of activities the Half Marathon weekend.
The event attracts some of the region’s top runners and past winners include international athletes: Kate Reed and James Thie.
Entry to the mile races is by invitation. Applications for an invitation will be primarily extended to athletics clubs but applications from schools will also be considered.
Spectators are welcome to come along and cheer the athletes on it is your chance to see the Paula Radcliffe’s and Steve Cram’s of the future.

2009 Mile and Sprint Races Prospectus
Local children aged 9 or 10 (age on 31st August 2009) can take part in the 40meter sprints. Heats are from 2.35pm but anyone wanting to take part must register by 1.50pm.
ENTRY CONDITIONS
Applications will only be accepted from (a) Bona fide members of registered Athletics Clubs (b) Pupils attending schools in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and B&NES local authority areas.
Closing dates
· Registration will be accepted on the day up to 1.50 pm.
· The closing date for postal entries is Wednesday 2nd September 2009.
· Entries may be restricted if numbers of applicants is excessive.
